Here is a modern version of a time honored French innovation. Used to keep butter fresh at room temperature, this stoneware crock will make a handsome addition to your kitchen and informal dining table.
Here’s how it works: Pack butter into the lid and invert into about one inch of cold water in the bottom of the pot. The cold water will form a seal to ensure the butter stays fresh and creamy. The water should be changed every two or three days.
The French Butter Keeper is dishwasher safe and measures about 4 ½ inches wide and 3 ½ inches tall. It holds one stick of butter and is available in celery, cream, nutmeg or blueberry. (see all colors)
